Transnational Partnership
'EXCHANGES' is an EQUAL Theme I transnational partnership involving the EASI DP and two other national development partnerships (DPs) in France and Hungary. EXCHANGES is working towards the social and vocational integration of asylum seekers in Europe.
A Partnership Approach
EQUAL is based on a partnership approach, consisting of organisations with common interests and different expertise working collaboratively at both national and transnational level. The Transnational Partnership was established through a Transnational Cooperation Agreement (TCA).
The Exchanges partnership consists of three development partnerships, from France, Hungary and the UK.
- The EASI DP in the UK (led by Islington Training Network).
- The FAAR DP in France (led by CIMADE - a national NGO).
- The ESELY DP in Hungary (led by Menedek, a national NGO).

Transnational Objectives
- To advocate for improved reception of asylum seekers in Europe and to demonstrate new improved methods of working to influence policy at an EU level.
- To improve the skills and capability of asylum seekers should they stay or return to their country of origin.
- To improve practice in service provision by identifying good practice through staff and information exchanges as well as learning from methods used by partners organisations.
- To have a comprehensive approach to all aspects of integration for asylum seekers and formulate a holistic integration policy.
- To see integration as a long term process that begins on arrival.
- To ensure equality and diversity practices are promoted and implemented within the Transnational Cooperation Agreement.
- To raise awareness and improve public perceptions of asylum seekers.
- To empower asylum seekers to enable them to raise awareness about their issues.
