Islington Training Network

Islington Training Network (ITN) is a membership organisation open to voluntary sector organisations and institutions providing pre-vocational and vocational training.

ITN offers its members a range of services such as capacity building, project management, the facilitation of links and new partnerships between training providers and the co-ordination of bid for projects designed to create training opportunities for all disadvantaged groups.

EASI works with ITN:

The EASI partnership is led and managed by ITN. As lead partner, ITN plays a key role as a strategic and operational resource and knowledge base in education, training and development, employment, organisation and management development. ITN also carries out representational functions at policy forums.

ITN contributes to the DP by influencing mainstream policy on refugee integration and promoting economic and social development and inclusion of asylum seekers. ITN takes all lead organisation responsibilities including partnership facilitation, internal monitoring and evaluation of the programme and the processing of financial and monitoring returns. ITN is also responsible for developing promotional material for the partnership and leads on communication related activities. Top

EASI developing good practice with ITN:

  • The involvement of the Advisory Group has shown the importance of engaging asylum seekers in the design of programmes.
  • Working in partnership with other organisations has allowed EASI partners to learn from each other and develop in cooperation with each other.
  • Participating in transnational partnership has facilitated the sharing of ideas across national boundaries and has allowed partners to learn from organisations in Hungary and France.
  • Mainstreaming has enabled ITN to share good practice with relevant stakeholders and policy makers and to contribute to UK government and EU asylum integration strategy.
